My Little Box September Lip Colour

In My Little Box each month you get one little treat from their own beauty range, My Little Beauty. I've been testing out this month's inclusion a red lip colour, Red Dingue. Now I was a little disappointed given that in the previous month's box I'd received a red lip colour from So Susan.

Having now tried them both out extensively I can say that this month's from My Little Beauty is the superior one. The texture is a lot better than it's So Susan counterpart and the colour a little bit richer. The So Susan one has a slight pinky colouring to it. Although the My Little Beauty's version doesn't have the staying power seen from Maybelline 24 hour lip colour, it doesn't transfer or fade as easily as many other lip glosses/sticks. When purchasing a red lip colour I would still be more likely to buy the maybelline version, it is a handy one to keep in my handbag.

That's me tried out all the products from this month's box fairly extensively, excluding the Cointreau  (which I already know I love) and I must say I am as happy as I was from when I first opened the box!

It is only my second box from My Little Box but it is something I would (and have) recommended. I'm hoping they maintain the high standard I'm seen so far and already I can't wait for my October box to arrive!

Manila and Latrice at Menergy Glasgow

So last night me and the girls decided to get our fabulous on and head to AXM in Glasgow to see two of my favourite drag acts.

Outfit for such a extravaganza had to be boom! I went for a black and gold sequined mini dress with little spaghetti straps and a pair of nice high sexy nails.

We knew our faces had to be flawless so we called in some expert help to ensure our make up was on point. As my dress was so blingy I felt a subtle eye with a bright red lip (maybelline 24 hour lip colour 'red alert') to go with my red stiletto heels.

Enough about me though. Last night was all about the super talented: Latrice Royale and Manila Luzon! Both were stars off the hit TV show Ru Paul's Drag Race. Manila is one of my all time favourites and I was cheering her on in season 2 when sadly she finished second. Extremely fishy to the max with a great eye for fashion. Plus kinda cute out of drag too. Last night I was not left disappointed. She was looking phenomenal and her performances were high energy and very entertaining. Same can be said for Latrice. Giving attitude and lapping up the love of the audience. The quality of the local acts was really high as well.

I wish I had some pictures of the acts to share but unfortunately I had drank too much and secondly I was having to much of a good time. All in all I've decided I want to be a drag queen.

Closing words : if you can't love yourself how the hell are you gonna love someone else. Can I get an Amen?

Eyelash extensions

Permanent Eyelash extensions: love them or hate them?

Personally I don't think I could live without mine anymore. I've been getting them for just over a year now with top up's every 4 - 6 weeks depending. Yeah it can leave a hole in your pocket. Quite a big hole at around £40 a pop. However, for me it is an expense worth paying.

You hear about the dangers of extensions thinning your own lashes. I can honestly say this hasn't been the case for me. Although saying that my eyelashes have always been quite thin which was actually one reason I started getting the permanent ones. They can last a varying length of time because (unless you pick or play with them) they fall out at the same rate as your own lash that it's glued to.

For me, I love how glam they make me feel when I first get them topped up. Equally I love that I don't need to bother with mascara on those days that I sleep in or I'm hungover or generally not feeling so glam! Wee slap of BB cream and a bit of lippy and I'm good to go.

I'd love to know what people think of their extensions if they've ever had it done. Pop it in the comments!

My Little Box September products

So I haven't used all this month's products yet, but I thought I'd give my opinion on things so far. Last night we went out for dinner with friends. I used the La Roche-posay BB cream. At first I thought it may be a bit too greasy or my face shiny. However, coupled with finishing powder and a bit of bronzer (from the previous month's box) it worked a treat. I teamed it up with the So Susan lip colour from last month's box. It's quite difficult to apply and has a weird texture that doesn't feel particularly nice on your lips. However, I love the colour which is a bit more pinky than the colour in this month's box. See the finished look on my instagram.com.  Link below.

My outfit for the evening was black skinny jeans, a red bodysuit with a mesh cutout in a deep V and a pair of scrappy black heels. I decided that it would be best to have a vest top under my bodysuit for going to a restaurant.  No one wants to look at my boobs while eating. The look was finished off with my new American Vintage scarf from My Little Box and a black leather jacket. I'm sorry to say I didn't get any pictures of my outfit as I was too busy drinking fizz.

Today I decided to give the nail decals a go. As I mentioned in my last post, I worried that these were maybe a bit too young for me. I'm still not convinced. Applied over the top of Barry M 'Bright Red' 262, which for the record is a fab colour, I'm just not sure how me they are.

Opinions welcome in the comments section.

My Little Box September 2015

This is my 2nd My Little Box and I'm so impressed I decided to start up a blog to review the wonderful treasures they send of a month to month basis.

This month brought me My Little Fashion Box. Anyone knows me will know I love fashion and eagerly await the fashion weeks and the Vogue that follows to confirm what's not. So I was pretty delighted to see a box with a fashion theme.

Beautifully presented as ever, I slowly opened my box. Tied it the trademark My Little Box ribbon with a cute postcard declaring 'The prettiest dresses are worn to be taken off'. A quote from the French writer, Jean Cocteau, that just oozes sexiness and will definitely be getting framed to go in my dressing room.

The My Little World magazine was in there but I must admit I have skipped it over to look at my other goodies. I believe it used to come in a glossy format rather than the folded up per version I've received in the last two boxes. I must admit that had it been in the glossy style I would be less likely to skip the magazine.

Under that I discovered a little gem that made the whole box worthwhile. A stunning limited edition scarf from American Vintage. Presented in a chic and fashionable style befitting of the celebration of the 10 years anniversary of American Vintage franchise.

Next I spotted some nail decals. Personally for me these are a little young. I may wear them one weekend although it's far more likely they'll go to my partner's daughter. Nice colours though so not too in your face.

Again, anyone who knows me will know I love a wee tipple. Particularly a cocktail.  So imagine my delight when I found a little Cointreau cocktail kit. The book of Cointreau fizz recipes was well put together and has there been any soda water in my flat I would have given them a bash. Alas, I shall have to make do with prosecco and no doubt at some point my mini Cointreau will be used a make skittle bombs!

Now onto the good bit. The My Little Box filled with beauty products. The bag this time had the adorable message of 'Trust me, you are lovely'. The goodies seem in this month's box were a red lip colour from My Little Beauty (their own make up range and featured on the lips of yours truly in the scarf photo above), a La Roche - posay BB cream (thank you very much!) and hairspray from Kérastase (yaldi).
I've yet to try the products out properly.  But red lippy is one of my staples, I'm too lazy most the time to do full makeup so BB Cream is my saviour and hairspray is a must in the windy Scottish climate. All in all these products are gonna get put through hardcore testing!

A great box.
Sorry for the lame photos. They'll be better next month!

I'd love to know what you thought of this month's box. Leave a comment for me!
