My Little Box April 2016

If anyone has read my Pink Parcel post, they will have seen my official apology for the lateness in posting. For all the My Little Box post readers, I shall repeat my apology. I have finally moved into my new house (it was love at first step) but I was left without internet access for quite some time so I really apologise.

I loved this month's theme. I have recently gotten really into gardening, plants and all things floral so to see it was My Little Flower Box was amazing for me. I thought it was a really sweet touch that some of the subscribers had bunches of flowers delivered with their boxes. Unfortunately I was not one of the lucky few but I really thought that was a great idea from the MLB team. The box itself is absolutely stunning and in a book type structure rather than the usual box with lid format we are used to. Before I'd even opened it, I was in love already.

Upon opening I was really happy to see the 'Jardin d'appartement', a lovely little pop up garden for your house and I knew exactly where this was going to go in my lovely new house. There isn't much more I can say until the seeds start to sprout but I thought this was a lovely idea and very in keeping with this month's theme. Apparently they sell this for £7 which is a little pricey in my opinion but it's a nice inclusion none the less.

The next lifestyle item was a gorgeous little lingerie bag, as part of a collaboration with Balzac Paris. It is absolutely beautiful and sweet and it makes me really wish I was going on holiday this summer. It has two separate compartments and a nice orange bow to keep everything nicely together when filled. The front has the motto 'La Vie Elegante' whilst the inside has a sweet picture of ladies' intimates. Normally costing £13 I loved this item and a very successful collab in my opinion. Well done MLB and Balzac.

Now the bit everyone looks forward to each month, the bag of make up and beauty products. As per usual in a little drawstring bag, this month's featuring grey leaves so again very in keeping with this month's theme. The first product I pulled out was a Nails Inc base coat. Nails Inc are a good brand and it normally retails about £11, so definitely value for money. However not a product I am raving about. At the end of the day it's just a base coat. I would have preferred to see a colour, maybe something floral (greens, yellows, pinks, oranges).

Next out is another brilliant brand, L'Occitane whose products I'm always more than happy to use. This one is their 'Pivoine Flora' shower gel whose peony scent transports you to France in spring. The only let down is I know how quickly I'll use up this sample. Thankfully My Little Box have arranged for their subscribers a discount for the month of April so chances are I'm going stock up on this one.

Every month MLB includes a product from their own beauty range, My Little Beauty, and this month is no different. We have been given a detox mask 'Rosée Du Matin' or Rosy Mornings for those who struggle with French. Apparently bursting with vitamin C which is always good for waking up skin after a long, harsh winter. Really looking forward to trying this out. This is £11 a go so I definitely feel like we got great value for money from this month's box.

This month had a really beautiful theme, great especially for spring and the contents I was absolutely delighted with (except the Nails Inc base coat which I was still relatively happy with). This box's theme really appealed to me and it was done perfectly.

I love My Little Flower Box!

Pink Parcel April 2016

I apologise, my lovelies, for taking so long to get any posts out. I am finally in my new house but have been an awfully long time without internet!

It's here! My Pink Parcel for April. Last month I had been super impressed with the box and I was hoping this one would be just as good. It had the usual products for your time of the month. The Pink Parcel customer service had kindly helped me change my products as I was having difficulty on their website. Top marks on customer care there.

The 'For Down There' package had the same feminine hygiene wipes as last time. These were great but I would have liked something new to try out for this month. Fingers crossed for next month.

Then things got really good! The reason the majority of women subscribe to boxes like these is to get a little treat and pamper. Pink Parcel have not disappointed with this month's 'For You' box.
Each month your box comes with a little sweet to cheer you up. This month the brand 'Mallow and Marsh' supplied Marshmallow Bars in various flavours. My bar was of the coconut variety. Pink Parcel must have mind-reading abilities because 1) I love coconut. It reminds me of summer and sunnier places than Scotland and 2) I love marshmallow! Like love love love marshmallow. Despite it being so bad for you....but wait, what is this Mallow and Marsh tell me it is under 100 calories. This can't be right. I would have loved to have tried the Raspberry variation too because raspberries are my favourite fruit. Let me know what you made of the other flavours. £18 for a case of 12, meaning the price of this product comes in at £1.50.

Every month they also give you a nice tea to sample. Perfect for teaholics like myself who find even the worst of situations can be solved by a good brew, never mind our periods. This month I was supplied with a bag from Teapigs, a brand that I already love to bits and frequently purchase. Now my Pink Post leaflet had promised a 'Chamomile Flowers Tea' but I was given a 'Popcorn Tea'. I have tried neither of these so I am happy with the substitute but a tad confused as to why it's different. My boyfriend's daughter (who has just subscribed to Teen Parcel off the back of my delight at the Pink Parcel boxes) thinks green tea with toasted rice sounds "rank". I do not share her sentiments thankfully and I'm really looking forward to giving this one a go. £1.30 for 2 teabags, making this retail at 65p.

Wait, so remember I said I love raspberries earlier? Imagine my delight when I came across Boozi Body Care Hand Cream in 'French Martini'. For obvious reasons French Martinis are one of my favourite cocktails and this definitely smells like raspberries (she says after sniffing her hand repeatedly). Great little 50ml handbag size which I will definitely be carrying about once my Korres handcream runs out. Good little inclusion as we (hopefully) head into more summery weather in the next couple of months. You can buy this from www.boozibodycare.com for £3.95, which if it performs well as a handcream I might just do!

This next product I was pretty happy with as well. A beautiful baby pink nail colour by True Brit called (you guessed it) Pink Parcel. I've yet to try it out but I do love painting my nails and I'm hoping this one will look as beautiful as it does in the bottle. This costs £12.50 a bottle so definitely made my money back from this box. Really really loving this product.

This next product I was again over the moon about. A new beauty brand CID Cosmetics. There was the chance of receiving 1 of 3 products. I got the I - smoulder in Chocolate 1607. It is a beautiful smokey brown with a cream eyeshadow at one end and an eyeliner at the other. I'd been planning on buying a brown eyeliner so I was over the moon to receive this and I love the colour. This was the most expensive out of the 3 options coming in at £18.50 so I really was chuffed to get this. It can be purchased at their website www.newcidcosmetics.com

In my opinion, this one was a bit of a weird one. Apparently 7th April was World Health Day (nope, me neither). I get the concept and if World Health Day was better known (maybe it is....maybe I'm thick) then it would have been a good inclusion. Still I'm a big cheese fan and being Scottish I'm awfully found of oatcakes, so one night the cheese loving lassie I am will be really glad they were included.

Last but not necessarily least is a NPW Pomegranate & Paw Paw Face Mask. I do like a face mask and with the stress of the house move my skin has taken a terrible bashing so I can't wait to give this a go.

All in all I am loving this subscription box. The Pink Parcel team are really up there in their social media and I must thank them for a competition win of the most delicious chocolate at Easter time.

Again I am sorry it took me so long to get this out but I will review the products ASAP and aim to get back on track with my posts soon. Much love to all my readers. Let me know what you made of your Pink Parcel, especially if you got any different products from me.
